PROJECT DELIVERY
Precisely Targeted Project Management Services
Every problem is unique and deserves a unique solution.
We offer customised and creative solutions to common project management problems, without the overhead of programmed processes, like lengthy and process-driven “needs analysis.”
In fact, our needs analysis is mostly our pre-sales cycle!
Our team is deeply experienced in project management and tuned to the specific needs and circumstances of each project and organisation. There is no “one size fits all” approach. We understand that something we see as a critical requirement in one project, we can safely ignore in others.
Based on our understanding of your needs, we will design a unique Project Management service solution based on our deep industry experience and our existing frameworks, such as our Project Delivery frameworks or our Visual Delivery Framework. Facto Project frameworks exist to save you time and money, not to generate billable hours for us.

Delivery Frameworks
Project management is crowded with tools, techniques, processes and methodologies. No matter your project – Agile, waterfall or something in between – you’ll often use these tools as part of a checklist, but for no other reason.
Despite all the availability of tools, project teams can all too easily skip over crucial steps, or fail to use tools to the best of their ability – either because they are misunderstood, difficult to use, or simply inappropriate.
We have developed our own set of frameworks for project management practice. These frameworks incorporate dozens of best-practice patterns for project management and guidelines for when and how to use them.
These are not methodologies but a resource. Individual project managers and teams can draw from this resource to rapidly identify the needful practices and tools for their project circumstances. Facto consultants can guide and support this process, looking at the type and size of the organisation and the attributes of each specific projects.
Although we try to avoid generic labels like “Agile” and “Waterfall”, sometimes we need to use them for ease of understanding.
These frameworks we have developed are for:
- Agile
- Waterfall
- Bi-Modal (drawing from both Agile and Waterfall)
These frameworks cover the end-to-end lifecycle of delivery, have lots of visual techniques and include optional toolsets that are selected based on project requirements. We then work through a series of guided questions designed to elicit the project’s operational requirements.
For example, how much governance does this project need? Depending on the answer, we will select just the right level of governance by selecting an option from the relevant framework.
PMO-as-a-Service (PMOaaS)
There are many different types of PMO, ranging from pure project reporting, through to standards definition and enforcement, right through to being the owner of all project delivery. The best PMO’s are not enforcers but facilitators and should hire experienced and superior project professionals, not bean counters and analysts. PMO stakeholders must be able to rely on the PMO to provide an accurate and objective view.
Our starting point in providing services is that there is no one single way to run a project successfully. Therefore, there is no one single way to set up and operate a PMO. We also know that sometimes a business cannot justify the expense of a PMO.
Other times a business has a PMO but doesn’t see the PMO as adding value, which often results in reduced PMO budgets, lower quality staffing or less coverage. When resources are scarce, it’s the time to be PMO-smart, not PMO-cheap.
We offer a range of PMO services that we tailor to the precise needs of every organisation and project portfolio.
There are three flavours of PMO-as-a-Service (PMOaaS), available as monthly subscriptions:
Basic
Project coordination, support and administration services with deliverables for up to 4 projects (dependent on size and complexity).
Standard
Coordination of projects or streams, resource management, financial management, scheduling, risk mitigation, and stakeholder and communication management with “Head of” oversight.
Complex
Facto assigns a PMO Manager to coordinate all projects or streams, with resource management, financial management, scheduling, benefits tracking, governance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder and communication management.
PM On Demand
No matter your project stage or situation, companies find themselves in need of project management skills. Sometimes organisations need a project manager role filled rapidly; Other times, the organisation needs project management skills.
We can help keep things moving and on track with On-Demand Project Management skills, and thereby avoid the Business Case impacts of a delay, or by allowing the project to go off course.
Many projects that begin have very little chance of success in the required timeframes or budgets. It is sometimes better to end these projects early than to find out they are not viable part-way through delivery. Objective Project Management assessment of project viability is a critical input right at the start of every project.
The reason most organisations don’t bring in PM’s at the beginning of projects is due to either cost or lack of availability.
Facto can ensure that organisations have short-term project management skills available early in the lifecycle providing objective advice on the viability of the project or project set up.
During a project, project management needs can arise at any time; for example, when a PM leaves unexpectedly. Companies need a hands-on PM who can walk into a project cold and keep it moving while they fill a longer-term role.
Facto can provide high-experienced Project Managers at short notice for either part-time or short-term situations at any stage in the project lifecycle.
Project Health Check
Organisations often think of a “Project Health Check” as people frequently think about their health: they go to the doctor when they are sick and need a cure. The same often applies to projects: managers often don’t act until something is about to go wrong, or already has.
There’s never a “right time” to run a Project Health Check. But the “right time” might be “right now”. Although there is an infinite number of ways for a project to go wrong, almost all of them fall into a small number of well-known categories. These can include (but are not limited to):
- Unclear or poorly communicated project objectives, scope and requirements,
- Issues with the schedule (critical path and dependencies, schedule detail and quality, and history of changes),
- The quality of team interactions and alignment,
- The project team’s “sources of truth”: what artefacts are they using to drive their activities, and Integration points, both technical and organisational.
Facto offers two variations of the Project Health Check:
Option 1:
A quick “sense check” of critical pressure points to detect problem indicators or early warning signs.
Option 2:
A “deep dive” on identified problem areas for further diagnostic information combined with driving known areas of improvement. Quick wins build early confidence.
We can run these options separately or in sequence. Whichever the option you select, we will drive the assessment process with speed and objectivity. Facto provides a Project Health Check that is objective, non-confrontational, quick and effective.
We implement a flexible and knowledgeable approach that takes each project’s unique circumstances into account. We will help you focus on tactics and outcomes, not some pre-defined and laborious process that forces you to wait for before doing anything. Facto will give you actionable intelligence as and when they find it.
